THE "TARA WAY"

In 2004 we started "Tara Co. Ltd." a new marine business in Vietnam www.tara.bz .  In 2005 we started vegetarian restaurant & tour operator "Karma Waters" www.karmawaters.com

Below is extracted from our website www.tara.bz :

In reality what we "produce" is people (customers, employees, owners, community at large, etc.).  Our "products" (models, yachts, etc.) are a necessary by-product & reflection of who we are - they are only one method to improve ourselves as "humane beings."

Tara's ethos - the "art of love & compassion"

Tara's employees and partners are people expressing themselves in all aspects of their individual lives.  We are creating a sustainable business by allowing the freedom of the individual to experience themselves - and so we are supporting the creation and continued development of sustainable communities.

We believe that many of us are faced with the reality of the "technology of greed" vs. the "art of love and compassion".  The technology of greed can be seen as having driven our economies and human beings to this point in our collective experience, and now we are shifting towards the "art of love and compassion".

We practice "a fair days work for a fair days pay".  "Fair trade practices" often play lip service to the terminology - depending of course on which side of the fence you sit on!  At least partially due to today's economic practices far too many of the world's population are not able to begin to experience "being humane".

It is our premise that today's global economy is based on outdated assumptions and practices of greed and that changes must be made if the world is to collectively move forwards.    We are not trying to change the world, only to recognize what is reality and to make changes inside to ourselves in terms of our own lifestyles - including the way we do our "busi-ness" (that activity that keeps us "busy"!).

Tara's real product is "people" and our environment - customers, employees, shareholders - everyone is a stakeholder! What we as a company sell as products and services to our customers is only one of our means of expressing ourselves, of providing "in-come".

The company provides the tools for stakeholders (employees, customers, local & global community, etc.) to enhance their individual "human voice"- this is our core reason for being organized and using the medium of business.  If we fail to provide this then the company will close - no need to be busy doing the wrong things!

To some of us sailing is a tool to express the humane state of 'being' - as opposed to 'doing' - we believe human beings are 'beings' seeking to be 'humane'.  Some individuals can find a deeper meaning in life through their inner world, or 'human voice', being appropriately expressed through sailing.

The individual sailors state of 'being' is often demonstrated in their ability to be at 'one' with a boat, and not to possess or be possessed by a boat. Tara
products and services are designed, built and intended for use within the context of enhancing the experience of being at "One".

Tara products and services, and the entire way in which we organize and deliver, is designed to enhance the employees and customers state of 'being' whilst respecting nature and it's processes. We aim to pay a fair price for all of our resources.  We support environmental initiatives, such as sustainable development - wherever possible precious natural resources such as wood are sourced from sustainable forests.

Tara's medium of exchange within our community is the richness of the experience of 'being' - this is above the exchange of money for payment of products and services we produce.

Tara always says and does the truth. Tara
is an open, transparent & accountable community based organ connecting our customers (customer, employee, community at large, etc.). We adhere to prudent business practices.

The market is inside
Tara.

We are seeking to find ways as "humane beings".  And as a result of all of this we may just conduct some business together....and if we do not do business together we just will that the ethos grows...!!

Are we able to do all of the above perfectly?  No - some we are doing better than others - but we are trying as we participate and move towards being more loving and compassionate "humane beings".
